What is ParkMyCloud?
ParkMyCloud is a simple, single-purpose SaaS tool that connects to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and enables users to automatically schedule on/off times for their idle cloud resources. It’s like Nest for the cloud.
Imagine how much money you’d waste if you left all of the lights and appliances on when you were not home. Hundreds of thousands of public cloud customers are in the exact same situation—wasting hundreds of millions of dollars paying for idle cloud resources.
Public cloud resources are “always on” unless customers specifically turn them off, which means customers are paying for computing time they don’t actually use—for example, between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Until now there has been no easy way to (a) view all resources across AWS, Azure, and GCP in a single, intuitive dashboard; and/or (b) schedule on/off times for these resources in a simple and automated way. Companies have tried scripting and cron jobs, but these methods are not automated or systematic. They require significant and continuous manual maintenance by an administrator who could otherwise be doing more valuable work.
